Class Description

Fall 2009 classes

General Information:

Classes begin 17 August 2009 & end 11 December 2009.

All classes will last one hour & be held for a sixteen week period.

Class Times: See student registration form for all class times.

A maximum of twelve students will be in each class.

Classes will meet in the Camp Verde Multi-Use Complex band room.

An instrument will be provided for students for class use.

Community classes are open to the general public.

A semester end concert will be held for students enrolled in the program.

 

 

Course Content (after-school classes)*

Beginning Guitar

  This class is an introduction to guitar. Students will learn beginning music concepts including most major and minor chords.
  Students will learn strumming and picking techniques. By the end of the class, students will have learned several songs.

Drama Group

  Students will learn basic concepts of drama through small group interaction in various situations.
  Emotions, line memorization and positioning will all be covered.

Piano

  An introduction to keyboard.
  Students will learn rhythm/ timing, music notations, the keys, chords & scales

Choral Performance

  An introduction to the voice.
Students will learn the fundamentals of vocal production.
  Emphasis on breathing techniques, tone production, and performances in class of solo vocal literature.

Violin

  8- week class
  An introduction to the violin. Basic beginning instruction.

Intermediate Guitar

  Participants are expected to know most major and minor chords. This class will move at a quick pace learning various styles of music.
  Class will begin to tune their guitar. Students will become more proficient in their chording skills.

Adult Beginning Guitar

  This class is an introduction to guitar. Students will learn beginning music concepts including most major and minor chords.

*After-school classes are reserved for Middle & High School Age students only (sponsored by C.V.U.S.D).

*C.V.U.S.D. students will not be charged for this class.

Class will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Class fees, if applicable, will be due at time of enrollment.

Any extra costs directly related to each class such as music books, off-site instrument rental or other supplies will be the responsibility of each student.

Class fees: $110 / semester , $60 / violin class.
