To establish and cultivate a community-based performing arts program, focusing on music, dance and dramatic presentation.
In smaller communities such as the Verde Valley, families have limited opportunities to grow in the performing arts. Both access and affordability prevent many talented individuals from experiencing, learning and developing these abilities.
Performing Arts Studios, Inc. (PAS) is a place where local citizens will come together to practice and study the performing arts. The program will be structured around three central elements: music, dance and drama. The facility will provide both individual practice and group instruction at affordable rates in these three areas. Currently, no local establishment exists in this small community which provides such rewarding opportunities.
Each of the activities enumerated within PAS will provide an affordable means for community members to actively participate, practice, rehearse in various aspects of the performing arts. It will allow the economically disadvantaged, for instance, to learn to play (and rent) a musical instrument at a reduced price. It will allow bands to rehearse rock-n-roll music in a non-biased setting, such as a church or a local bar. It will enable youth to pursue their dreams of ballet while receiving professional dance instruction. PAS provides a unique environment for the community to become educated in the performing arts & will stimulate the interest of youth in this small rural area.
PAS is formed to accommodate a wide variety of artists. It does not discriminate against its users based on type of music, such as country, rock, or Christian rock. Dance performances likewise will encompass ballet, hula as well as hip-hop. PAS embraces the diversity of the performing arts. It is our goal for the participants to become educated & appreciate various elements of music, dance & drama.
PAS is community-based & therefore is focused on primarily the local citizens. Our goal is to reach out to include the many talented musicians/ artists nestled in our community and let them contribute their talents to help educate the facility users. Consequently, the facility will help make the community more ‘tight-knit’.
PAS is also geared toward involving the youth of the area. Aside from sports in our community, there are few youth-related activity centers. A facility such as PAS is desirable. It will provide a place for the youth to congregate and interact in a healthy arts-related environment.
